tides
Stillness returns – the moon rises. Moist air laces with night sounds as nature slips into the currents of sleep.

summers heat waning sapphire blue on velvet sky bare feet in deep grass
respite
moist air of summer wings grown weary from travels rest among cool greens
contradictions
sharp edges, smooth blue golden leaves against complementary hue
stilled
Lengthening shadows pair with sheltering branches – the hush of a hawk.

Swaying in the breeze, translucent petals, backlit fired to radiance.

Follow cloud reflections around the curve to overarching trees… and on back to where herons fly, ranging bright in a cobalt sky.
bursting
Strong and tall, the flower named for the sun shines, its bright head pregnant with seed.
night light
A cool, single bulb picks out patterns on the sliding door, exposes dark edges of potholes in the dim alley, easing the way home.
